Terms

Last updated: June 22, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of WPWellbeing (wpwellbeing.org), our newsletter, our free sessions, and our community. By joining our community, registering for a session, downloading a resource, or otherwise using our website, you agree to these Terms.

If you don’t agree, please don’t use WPWellbeing.

1. Who we are

WPWellbeing is an independent community wellbeing initiative founded by Ranu Patel, based in India. WPWellbeing is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Automattic, Inc., the WordPress Foundation, or the WordPress® open source project. Contact: hello@wpwellbeing.org.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years old to register for sessions or join our community
  • You must be legally capable of entering a binding agreement in your jurisdiction
  • If you are registering on behalf of an organization (for example, a partnership inquiry), you represent that you have the authority to do so

3. The service is free

WPWellbeing’s community sessions, newsletter, and resources are free to access. We may introduce paid programs or partnerships in the future for organizations; if we do, they will be clearly optional and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any session, feature, or resource at any time. We will give reasonable notice before removing major features where possible.

4. Sessions and community participation

Registration

  • Sessions are free and registration is required so we can send you joining details
  • Sessions may be recorded for later viewing by community members; by attending, you consent to being included in any recording, unless you notify us in advance that you prefer not to appear on camera
  • We reserve the right to limit attendance, reschedule, or cancel a session with reasonable notice

Community conduct

WPWellbeing is built to be a calm, respectful, and emotionally safe space. By participating, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or demean any other participant
  • Use sessions or community spaces for unrelated self-promotion, sales pitches, or solicitation
  • Share another participant’s personal information or session recordings without their consent
  • Misrepresent your identity, profession, or affiliation

We may remove any participant from a session or our community at our discretion if these expectations are not met.

5. Free resources and downloads

Resources such as the Tech Burnout Checklist are provided free of charge for personal and educational use. You may share them with attribution to WPWellbeing. You may not resell, repackage, or present them as your own original work.

6. Email communications

When you join our newsletter, register for a session, or download a resource, you consent to receive:

  • A welcome email and any resource you requested
  • Session confirmations and reminders, if you registered for a session
  • Our newsletter with wellbeing resources and community updates, which you may unsubscribe from at any time via the link in any email

Transactional emails directly related to a session you registered for (such as joining details) cannot be opted out of while that session is upcoming, as they are necessary to deliver the service you requested.

7. Partner and organization inquiries

If you submit a partnership inquiry on behalf of an agency, WordCamp, hosting company, or other organization, submitting the form does not create any binding obligation on either party. Any partnership, sponsorship, or paid engagement will be governed by a separate written agreement signed by both parties.

8. Your content

If you submit a testimonial, story, or feedback that we feature on our website or social media (with your permission), you retain ownership of that content. By submitting it, you grant WPWellbeing a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on our website, newsletter, and social media for the purpose of sharing community stories. You may request removal at any time by contacting us.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for spam, phishing, fraud, or illegal activity
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download our website content without written permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
  • Use automated tools to register for sessions or submit forms
  • Upload malware or any code intended to compromise our website or its users
  • Violate any law or regulation that applies to you

10. Intellectual property

The WPWellbeing name, logo, website design, and original written content (including our resources and guides) are owned by WPWellbeing. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our branding beyond what is necessary to use the service.

The WordPress® name and logo are trademarks of the WordPress Foundation. WPWellbeing is an independent community initiative and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Automattic, Inc., the WordPress Foundation, or the WordPress® open source project.

11. Disclaimers

WPWellbeing is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about:

  • The availability, reliability, or uptime of our website or sessions
  • The outcome of any wellbeing practice, resource, or session for any individual
  • The conduct of any other community member or session participant

You use WPWellbeing, attend our sessions, and use our resources at your own discretion and risk.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WPWellbeing and its founder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the website, attendance at sessions, or use of our resources.

13. Termination

You may stop using WPWellbeing, unsubscribe from our newsletter, or request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We may restrict your access to sessions or community spaces if you violate these Terms, particularly the conduct expectations in Section 4.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Before filing any legal action, please email hello@wpwellbeing.org and give us 30 days to resolve the dispute informally. Most concerns can be resolved directly with us.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as WPWellbeing grows. Material changes will be communicated via email to our newsletter subscribers and a visible notice on our website, along with an updated “Last updated” date above. Continued use of WPWellbeing after the change date constitutes acceptance.
